Sufism in Bollywood

Sufi poems and music styles have had a huge influence on Bollywood. The quality of addressing the God or the divine as the beloved in Sufism appeals to the inherently romantic sensibilities of Bollywood music. In this episode, I invited Sufi singer Anuraag Dhoundeyal to sing some Bollywood numbers as well has his original Sufi compositions acoustically. Enjoy this show that’s a combination of movie songs and live singing with songs such as “Piya Haji Ali”, “Saanson ki Mala Pe Simrun Main”, “Arziyan”, “Khwaja Mere Khwaja”.
